  • Is Tyler Motte ready to go, “he’s cleared to play, so he’s an option.”
  • Is he a game-time decision, “exactly.”

  • What would he add to the lineup, ” a lot of speed, penalty killer, good defensive hockey player. He brings a lot to our team and his speed is definitely noticeable and that helps us a lot.”
  • What would prevent him from playing, “well, like the other night we talked about the seven d-men. We’ll see. I’ll make that decision. I have a good idea of what he’s doing, but I’m not going to tell you guys right now.”
  • Is 11 and 7 on the table again, “it’s a possibility. I’m not saying that is going to happen, but it’s a possibility.”
  • Should Kreider and Mika be freed up with Crosby not playing, “If he’s not playing, I always talk to our guys, it’s not just one guy that watches Sidney Crosby, when he is on the ice and that line is on the ice all five guys gotta be aware of it, but I still want us to play our game. I’ve never once told them ‘let’s be in a defensive shell and make sure they don’t get chances.’ They are going to get chances any way you want to look at it. They spend a lot of time in the offensive zone and they are a great line and talent line. We still gotta play our game and do what we do.”
  • How would you evaluate Mika’s line at even strength, “They got a tough job to do. I know one thing, they aren’t happy when the other line scores against them. They’ve had success all year long and they are a little bit frustrated by it, but when we talk to our players and I talk to that line it’s ‘go play your game.’ You can’t worry about Sidney Crosby, they are going to get lots of chances, they are going to create lots of chances, but we need to make sure we are trying to create those chances, too.”
