Kevin Rooney has signed a two-year deal with the Calgary Flames that has a cap hit of $1.3 million per season. (Friedman)
Rooney had six goals and six assists in 61 games last season and had two assists in 15 playoff games.
He played 115 games for the Rangers over the last two-years and had a cap hit of $750,000.
Adam Rotter: Good for Kevin Rooney to get a two-year deal at almost double his prior cap hit. He was a solid fourth liner for the Rangers, played a nice role and was someone that the Rangers opted to protect in the expansion draft last year over Colin Blackwell. The Rangers will be seeking someone to replace his PK role and spot on the fourth line.
