What Gerard Gallant said after the win over Philly

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the win over Philly and said (NYR/MSG):

  • On K’Andre Miller’s goal, “yea, pretty talented to see that and especially the way he put it in. It was a great play by Key. He scored a goal like that last year, I think it was against Florida, similar to that, but it was great.”

  • On the game, “I thought we played real good the first 25-30 minutes of that game, real solid and Philly came out and played a good first half of the game also. Then we got a little bit sloppy at times, but overall we played pretty good hockey and it was all four lines and all the D were involved and, obviously, we had good goaltending so it was a good effort from our group again tonight.”
  • On Jaro Halak in the second period, “He made some great saves there and it was at a key time for us.”
  • On K’Andre Miller’s offensive upside, “he’s got a lot of upside there, no doubt about that. It’s just a fine line of joining the rush and making the offensive plays and playing defense against top players on the other side. He picked his spots right and that is what I like about him, he reads the play real good.”
  • On Barclay Goodrow’s offense, “he made some real good plays, especially on the first goal, that cross-ice pass. He’s making some plays and he’s a good player and a character guy for us.”
  • On the Trocheck line, “I liked the line combinations tonight, I thought that they all played really well for the most part, they did their job, we did got a lot of pucks behind their D and spent a lot of time in their zone, so I was really impressed with all the lines tonight.”
