Peter Laviolette met with the media following the win over the Pens and said (MSG):
- On the game, “it was a really good division game, I thought our guys came out really well and did a good job in the first period getting right back on it and got ourselves a lead and continued to push. They had some chances, I thought defensively guys were really working, Quickie played unbelievable in net tonight and we walk away with a big win.”
- On Quick, “he’s been outstanding, today might have been his best, he was really sharp, there was… as the game pressed on…they got some guys that can really create out there and he made some big saves, there was backdoor leg save, a save right at the end of the game, just an outstanding job from him>”
- On PK, “they were fantastic, blocked so many shots, sacrificing themselves like that and it gets frustrating when you can’t get your shot through on the PP and you gotta give the PKers a lot of credit tonight.”
- On winning the way they did, “It’s good, I think it’s good to win games that way and the goaltending obviously played well, defense, we are trying to make sure we are doing the right things defensively and even offensively I thought, they were probably saying they could have scored a few goals tonight, Quickie was really good, we could have scored a few, too. We weren’t able to get it through either, just a tight, low-scoring game.”
