Adam Rotter:
- Another solid performance overall and a fantastic game from Igor Shesterkin. He was terrific, especially in the first period when Columbus was controlling the play.
- The OT and shootout kept setting Mika Zibanejad to be the hero. He was stopped on two breakaways in OT and then he had the chance to clinch it in the shootout but was stopped again. Lucky for him Igor Shesterkin and Vincent Trocheck bailed him out and the team picked up the two points.
- Again, Matt Rempe is under six minutes again and there is no reason to keep him on the bench when someone like Brett Berard can step in and play the same 10-12 minutes a night that Adam Edstrom and Sam Carrick seem to play. That is unless Peter Laviolette wants to double shift someone for the second half of the game rather than let Rempe play. I still think it makes sense to bring someone else up, roll four lines and let Rempe play bigger minutes in Hartford.
- It’s another big game on Sunday against a Montreal team that sits one point ahead of them in the standings.
