Adam Fox is the NHL’s Third Star of the Week

The NHL has announced that Adam Fox is the third star of the week.

From the NHL: “Fox led the NHL with six assists and eight points (2-6—8), and also scored both of New York’s game-winning goals, as the Rangers (8-6-3, 19 points) went 2-2-0 in four contests. He collected one assist in a 4-3 loss to the New York Islanders Nov. 8, followed by 1-3—4 – his second career four-point outing (also March 25, 2021 at PHI: 0-5—5) – in an 8-2 triumph versus the Detroit Red Wings Nov. 10. Fox then assisted on New York’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators Nov. 12 before closing the week with 1-1—2, including his ninth career game-winning goal, in a 4-1 victory against the Arizona Coyotes Nov. 13. The 24-year-old winner of the 2020-21 James Norris Memorial Trophy has skated in 17 total games this season, placing among the top defensemen in assists (t-1st; 14), points (2nd; 19) and goals (3rd; 5).”

What Gerard Gallant said after the win over Arizona

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the win over Arizona and said (MSG):

  • “I agree 100%.”
  • On the start, “They played fast and hard and put pucks behind us the first half of the game and we didn’t respond well to it, couldn’t get our legs going and then all of a sudden we get a couple of good PKs and everybody started to jump from that point on and pretty happy with that because before that we were pretty stale and slow and that PK gave us a good boost.”

  • On Vitali Kravtsov, “he was in the dentist’s chair. He had the flu yesterday morning, came to the rink last night and his teeth were really bothering him so he spent the morning in the dentist’s chair and I haven’t heard since that. He isn’t playing.”
  • Everyone else who got banged up last night is good, “Yep.”

What Gerard Gallant said after the loss to Nashville

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the loss to Nashville and said (MSG):

  • On time being taken off the clock in the final seconds, “I don’t know how the NHL does it over there, but it was disappointing to see that and then I get no explanation for the 0.1. It might have been right, but I didn’t get no explanation until the end when the game was over, like why did it go from 0.6 to 0.1? I have no idea. Ask the NHL.”
