Three Stars:

  • 3: Igor Shesterkin
  • 2: Mika Zibanejad
  • 1: Alexis Lafreniere

Stats:

Adam Rotter:

  • Much like last week against Ottawa, the Rangers pretty much dominated today.
  • They flexed their muscles against a team well below them in the standings, scored on the PP, got depth scoring and Igor Shesterkin pitched a shutout.
  • Alexis Lafreniere sure looked like a rested player in the third period. It stinks that his move to the third line was at the expense of Kaapo Kakko getting hurt and his second goal of the game was one of the nicest the Rangers have scored this season. There is still a question of where he slots in if everyone is healthy, but until the Rangers prove they can stay healthy it won’t be an issue.
  • Hopefully Kaapo Kakko isn’t too injured and that the Rangers are just being cautious.
  • Next up for the Rangers is Winnipeg on Tuesday and then three nice tests before the playoffs with the Islanders, Bruins and Hurricanes.
