8:03 PM: The Rangers have officially announced the trade. The Fourth round pick is in 2025 and the third-round pick to Arizona is conditional.
3:46 PM: Arizona will get a 2025 Third Round Pick for their role in retaining 50% of Kane’s cap hit.
2:53 PM: Emily Kaplan says that the Rangers are trading a conditional 2023 Second Round Pick and 2023 Fourth Round Pick for Kane.

The Second Round Pick can become a first round pick in either 2024 or 2025 if the Rangers make the Eastern Conference Finals.
Arizona will be the third team involved to retain salary.

1:03 PM: Friedman said on The Jeff Marek Show, “the way the salary cap works is there are pre-5PM moves and post-5PM moves and anything before 5PM counts on the cap for today and anything after 5PM counts on the cap for tomorrow. I think there is a possibility that we get the announcement tonight and Kane is a Ranger tomorrow. Technically he’s a Ranger tonight, but he’s activated or eligible for tomorrow and they play in Philly.”
He added, “One of the things…I got a text like 3 minutes ago from someone saying that ‘we believe the Blackhawks have shipped the equipment’….this is happening, we’re just waiting for the official announcement.”
9:30 AM: Elliotte Friedman tweets that “things continue to be put in motion behind the scenes” to get Patrick Kane to the Rangers and that if the Rangers want Kane to count against their cap on Wednesday, they can acquire him after 5PM Eastern tonight.
