Stats:

Adam Rotter:

  • This wasn’t the Rangers best game of the season, but it was what you wanted to see both against a team like Chicago and after how things went on Tuesday.
  • Igor Shesterkin was really good, the PP worked and they just played a better brand of hockey than they did on Tuesday. It was against Chicago and so you can’t get overly hyped about a game that you are expected to win, but it was still a nice response after how Tuesday went.
  • Brennan Othmann skated on the third line and was noticeable all night. He was physical, shot the puck and didn’t really look out of place. Obviously Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil’s eventual return will force some lineup decisions and likely return Othmann to Hartford, if he doesn’t go down before t hat, but it’s nice to see someone who can slot in and provide depth and also get NHL experience.
  • Next up is Montreal on Saturday.
