The Edmonton Oilers are acquiring centers Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks.

Henrique was long rumored to be a potential option for the Rangers to replace Filip Chytil.
Adam Rotter: The last of the best three rental centers is now off the market. Anaheim pairing Henrique and Carrick together likely will net them a higher quality return than they would have gotten trading them separately or just trading Henrique. He was definitely a fit and would have made a lot of sense as the third line center and maybe the Rangers were really interested in him, but this seems much more like a case of Anaheim being able to leverage two players, especially to as All-In of a team as there is, for a better return. Being able to get a first round pick is very good value for the Ducks and a price that the Rangers weren’t going to pay.
