Stats:

Adam Rotter:

  • An ugly performance to end the Rangers playoff hopes seems fair.
  • They did push in the third period, it took them until Game 80, and tried to close the gap but they could never get there.
  • Nice that Will Cuylle, arguably the Rangers best and most consistent player this season, got to 20 goals. It’s a nice milestone and will likely end up costing the Rangers a bit more in his next contract.
  • Again, sitting Gabriel Perreault and Brennan Othmann is ridiculous. The two of them should not only get into the lineup for the last two games but play close to 20 minutes. That won’t happen, but it’s what should happen. Both should return to the Top-Six and while it’s nice for Jonny Brodzinski to get a shot there after a nice season, that really doesn’t help anyone moving forward. That said, Peter Laviolette probably doesn’t care about what is coming next for the Rangers since there is a more than likely chance that he won’t be behind the bench for it.
  • It’s the Panthers on Monday, the Lightning on Thursday and then training camp in September for the Rangers.
