- Their playoff hopes stay alive….at least until tomorrow. Montreal only needs one point tomorrow to end the Rangers season.
- The Islanders, again, got some terrible goaltending tonight and the Rangers took advantage of that in a big way. All of the big guys contributed and, at least offensively, the Rangers looked like the team they were supposed to be.
- But they still showed who they were with sloppy defense and the need for great goaltending from Igor Shesterkin. The game was always in the Rangers favor, but without some of the saves that he made, this could have been 9-6.
- It’s sad that even at 4-0 after one I did sort of expect that the Rangers would blow the game.
- I thought it was ridiculous last night that Gabe Perreault didn’t play and still do. It’s also ridiculous that Brennan Othmann didn’t play either. Brett Berard showed why he has to stay in the lineup with not only his goals, but the energy that he brings. Good for Juuso Parssinen to score his first as a Ranger, but he shouldn’t have played over Othmann or Perreault.
