10:20 PM: Gerard Gallant said after the game (MSG):

• Anything on Panarin and Copp, “Not much, should be fine. Being cautious.”
• Is this the same issue for Copp, “I haven’t even talked to them yet. They told me between periods, ‘do you want them back, need them back?’ and I said ‘no, I need them back next week.”
• So Copp and Panarin could have returned if needed, “That is what they told me, but I’m on the cautious side. If it was next week, one of those games, both of them would have been back. Tomorrow they might wake up and not feel as good, but….”

4:44 PM: Gerard Gallant spoke after practice today and said (NYR):

• On the injuries, “nothing more than day-to-day, that is about it.”
• What about tomorrow for Copp and Chytil, “I don’t think they’ll be playing tomorrow. “

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the win over the Islanders and said (MSG):

• On the game, “we  got off to a great start, obviously. That line had three goals in the first period and it was great and I thought we played real well. I’m disappointed the shutout streak broke, but that was going to happen sooner or later, but overall I thought the games played really well, played a real good, solid game and it’s two big points.”

Gerard Gallant met with the media following the win over Winnipeg and said (NYR, MSG):

• Do you want to save some of those shutouts for the playoffs, (Laugh) “No kidding. It was nice to see happen. He earned that shutout tonight, he played really well, made some key saves at key times, for sure.”
• On Shesterkin’s play recently, “It’s been 90% of the season that he’s played like that. He had one little downturn where he wasn’t Shesterkin-like, but he’s been outstanding and it’s good to see Georgie get involved in the shutouts, too and the goaltending has been real good lately for us lately, real strong. It’s great to see them get rewarded when they play like that.”
