On Ryan Strome, “Strome and the Rangers were talking all year and they just never got to a sweet spot and I think that continued after the season, after they got knocked out they kept trying. I heard term was an issue, I don’t know if number was an issue or not, but I heard term was an issue. I heard the Rangers were careful about how much term they wanted to give. We’ll see, centers are always valuable.”

2022 New York Rangers Offseason, Igor Shesterkin

Igor Shesterkin is staying in the US this offseason

Joe Pantoro of AM New York wrote last week that Igor Shesterkin will spend the offseason in the US rather than return to Russia.

Shesterkin announced at the NHL Award and that he and his wife were expecting their first child.

Minnesota’s Kirill Kaprizov was reportedly denied entry twice to return to the US after reports surfaced that he was being accused of buying a fake military ID in 2017. (The Athletic)

Chris Drury wouldn’t confirm if any of the Russian players are in Russia right now but added that he had “no concerns” about the situation.
