5:10PM: David Quinn spoke after practice on Wednesday and said (NYR):
- On Brendan Lemieux’s status, “he just got cleared, day to day. When we feel he is ready he will be in the lineup.”
- On why Hajek was sent down, “he’s missed a lot of hockey and he probably wasn’t going to play much here heading into the break and this gives him a chance to get down there and play some meaningful games and get back into game mode.”
- On the Rangers identity, “I think we have to be a puck pressure team, make teams uncomfortable because we are not an overly big team. We have to keep teams out of their structure.”
- Is that what you want or is that where you are, “I think we are getting there, not where we need to be but we are making progress in that area.”
12:37PM: Alex Georgiev will start for the Rangers on Thursday when they play the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. (NYR)
Georgiev stopped 32 of 34 shots against Islanders in the Rangers 6-2 win on Monday.
