  • Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad, Kaapo Kakko
  • Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, Alexis Lafreniere
  • Jimmy Vesey, Filip Chytil, Barclay Goodrow
  • Sammy Blais, Ryan Carpenter, Julien Gauthier

Gerard Gallant spoke after practice and said (NYR):

  • Is Chytil ready to go, “I haven’t been told yet, but I’ll find out a little later today from the trainers, once I meet with them. But he looked good and everything went good in practice, so I’m hoping for that, but I gotta find out.”
  • Would getting Chytil back give you more offensive punch, “he’s a huge part of our team, it’s not like the first half last year where you could replace guys in and out. Fil is a big part of our group and we really miss him when he’s out. It makes a big difference in your top-nine, for sure.”
  • Are there a lot of moving parts in the bottom-six, “not many moving parts because we don’t got many guys. As you know, we’ve got guys injured and it depends with Fil, we’ve got the minimum amount of roster space. We’ll see what happens and see where it goes. Obviously we know where Fil fits in and we can move guys around, but once I find that out I’ll start to look at it this afternoon.”
  • Is there a thought that you might need to make a roster move on defense, “That is not my department (laugh). I’m comfortable, we’re comfortable, for sure.”
  • On the injuries, “A lot more than last year, that I can remember, definitely. Nothing (knocks on table) major.”
  • On how to replace Lindgren next to Fox, “I’m not worried about that at all. It’s not like K’Andre and Trouba are second fiddle to those guys. They are a big part of our group, Murph puts those four on against anybody. You mix and match those guys so it’s not an issue at all and if Lindgren doesn’t play tomorrow, obviously Libor is in, we’ll put him somewhere.”
  • Could you play Schneider with Fox, “No, I’m not putting him on his wrong side, but there are lots of options. Obviously, if Lindgren can’t play then Libor will go in somewhere and Murph will decide the pairs this afternoon.”
  • Miller skated with Fox today, is that an option, “Did you see Reaves playing D, too? (laugh) Don’t go by today, maintenance day for Troubs, so don’t out anything into those. Me and Murph will talk about it as soon as we go back there.”
  • Is Reaves the emergency defenseman, “He looked good, moved his feet well, he was fine. (smile)
  • Is Igor starting tomorrow, “We haven’t decided yet. They know, but you won’t know until tomorrow.”
  • Do you have to get Halak a game, “You don’t worry about that. Igor is not going to play 82-games, it’s not going to happen. We’re confident in Halak, he played two real good games out of his three, there is not an issue there. We decided to go the way we went in the lat little while and that is the way it is. We’ll make those decisions game by game.”
  • Is it sometimes a positive to shake up the D-pairs, “Definitely. I don’t want to see Lindy hurt or any of our guys hurt, but I think a few games ago, Murph, maybe in Arizona he switched the d-pairings around. I don’t think it hurts, they get a little stale at times and you rely on your partner and we’ll probably always go back to those because they play off each other well and we’re happy with them, but sometimes it gets a little stale and you want to shake it up a little bit.”
