10/20/21 | 2:24PM: Larry Brooks writes that both Gallant and Chris Drury tried to get Kravtsov to reconsider his refusal to start the season in the AHL but it isn’t known if that was before or after he returned to Russia. (NY Post)
Brooks writes that Kravtsov’s reason for refusing his assignment was about his belief that there would never be a top-six spot for him since the Rangers have Chris Kreider, Artemi Panarin, Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko already in those spots. (NY Post)
12:29PM: Nick Kypreos says that nearly half of the league has inquired about Kravtsov, with the Flames, Jets and Senators among those teams.
10/19/21 | 3:29PM: According to Elliotte Friedman at 32 Thoughts, Rangers coach Gerard Gallant “personally called Vitali Kravtsov to ask the forward to consider returning.”
Friedman says that Kravtsov’s preference is to play in the NHL, but that he’d like a “fresh start.”
Friedman says that the Rangers are asking a “high price,” but adds that there is “legitimate interest” and now it’s a “poker game.”
