The NHL has announced the order of selection for next Thursday’s draft.
The Rangers have the following picks:
- 63: Second Round
- 111: Fourth Round (From Vegas for Brett Howden)
- 159: Fifth Round
- 191: Sixth Round
This confirms that Winnipeg chose to select St. Louis’ second round pick #55 (which the Rangers acquired for Pavel Buchnevich) as part of the Andrew Copp trade. They had the option to choose the St. Louis pick this year or the Rangers second round pick in 2023.
The Rangers traded their first round pick for Andrew Copp, third round pick for Ryan Reaves, their own fourth round pick for Frank Vatrano and their seventh round pick for the rights to Barclay Goodrow.
