Stats:
Gerard Gallant spoke after the game and said (NYR):
- Was that the kind of start you were looking for, “exactly the start, and the finish. It was a good, solid 60 minutes and a real good way to finish our road trip and have a couple of days off and go back home.”
- Was it encouraging to see them score different kinds of goals, “yea, I thought we played real well. We managed the puck as good as we’ve managed it in a long time. Solid saves when we needed them and I thought it was just a good team effort, good team game. Real good.”
- On The Kid Line, “They’ve been outstanding, really led the way again tonight and I think they are playing great and with a lot of confidence and that is a good sign for us.”
- On Lafreniere making the same move he made against Detroit, “I think it was, that is what the boys said, I can’t remember, but I’m pretty sure it was. Nice to see. Good for the confidence.”
- On K’Andre Miller, “he’s playing really well, really good today. He wasn’t feeling really good before the game star either, but he stuck it up and played real good hockey, a key guy for us.”
- On getting past 100 points, “It’s awesome, it means you had a good season, but it doesn’t mean nothing in two weeks time. You start all over again to try and win, but it’s good, we’ve had two good years in a row and you just want to keep getting better.”
