Elliotte Friedman said on today’s 32 Thoughts podcast that the Rangers are “are considering an awful lot of things” and that after last season there are “very few things that are off the table.”
He added that Chris Drury has got “a lot out there” and wants to know from other teams what his options might be.
Adam Rotter: This is essentially the same kind of report from earlier this season except it’s not specifically naming Chris Kreider or Jacob Trouba. Chris Drury wants to be aggressive in bringing the Rangers back towards not just the playoffs this season but remaining a playoff team.
I think that the main untouchables for the Rangers are Igor Shesterkin, Adam Fox, JT Miller and probably Gabriel Perreault. Most everyone else, outside of those that would need to approve trades via their no-move or no-trade clauses, would seemingly be on the table in the right move. I don’t think Vincent Trocheck is going to get moved and I think it would be awful big risk to move Alexis Lafreniere. Outside of that, Chris Drury is looking to continue to shake things up.
