The Rangers have announced that Braden Schneider, Lauri Pajuniemi, Tyler Wall, Adam Huska, Tyler Wall and Matthew Robertson have been sent to Hartford.
Will Cuylle has been sent back to the OHL.
The Rangers have 27 players left in camp.
Forwards (16): Morgan Barron, Sammy Blais, Filip Chytil, Julien Gauthier, Barclay Goodrow, Dryden Hunt, Kaapo Kakko, Vitali Kravtsov, Chris Kreider, Alexis Lafreniere, Greg McKegg, Artemi Panarin, Ryan Reaves, Kevin Rooney, Ryan Strome, Mika Zibanejad
Defensemen (9): Adam Fox, Libor Hajek, Zac Jones, Ryan Lindgren, Nils Lundkvist, K’Andre Miller, Patrik Nemeth, Jarred Tinordi, Jacob Trouba
Goaltenders (2): Alexandar Georgiev, Igor Shesterkin
Adam Rotter: None of these are surprising, though Schneider did have a strong camp. Now it just comes down to the last few cuts. On defense it comes down to Zac Jones or Nils Lundkvist for the sixth spot and Libor Hajek and Jarred Tinordi for the 7th, or 7th and 8th.
Up front, the players on the bubble are Morgan Barron, Julien Gauthier, Greg McKegg and, though unlikely, Vitali Kravtsov. Barron can go to Hartford without waivers and while he seems ready or close to ready, all of the additions in the bottom-six are complicating that. McKegg seems ideal as the 13th forward and then there is Gauthier, who needs to go on waivers to go to Hartford, but may only have a top-nine role at the start if Kravtsov is hurt.
