Vitali Kravtsov

Habs and Sens reportedly interested in Vitali Kravtsov

11/9/21 | 2:25PM: Frank Seravalli writes at Daily Faceoff that Montreal and Ottawa “were the two teams that expressed the most interest” in Vitali Kravtsov.

Kravtsov played his first KHL game, after being loaned by the Rangers, on Friday and scored twice, including the OT winner, had an assist and three shots on goal.

Adam Rotter: The Rangers would seem to have three options with Kravtsov. Trade him for a former first round pick that has yet to establish himself in the NHL, trade him, with a defensive prospect, for a forward that is young, more established and would fit within the Rangers tight salary cap or try to repair the relationship enough that he is willing to come back and work his way to the Rangers.

Montreal has a player in 22-year old Ryan Poehling (25th overall in 2017) that would seem to be a match, but if it were that easy the deal would be done. Ottawa has a bunch of similar prospects but I’m not sure how comparable any of them are to Kravtsov’s situation.

I think this is going to take some time and that there is every chance that this gets settled after the season or maybe he comes back when the KHL season is done, plays well and finds himself part of things again.
