4/1/25 | The Rangers have officially announced that Tung has signed an ATO and he will join Hartford for the rest of this season. His entry-level contract will begin next season.

3/31/25 | 9:41PM: Frank Seravalli says that Tung will report to Hartford.

9:09PM: Elliotte Friedman tweets that the Rangers are close to signing 21-year old freshman UCONN goalie Callum Tung.

Tung was 10-4-1 with a 2.01 GAA and a .933 save percentage.

Adam Rotter: Igor Shesterkin is obviously signed for eight-more years and Jonathan Quick just signed for another, but in Hartford, Louis Domingue is a pending UFA and Dylan Garand is a pending RFA. Garand is having a strong year in the AHL and likely going to be the Rangers back up when Jonathan Quick eventually retires. The Rangers also have Talyn Boyko in the ECHL, playing for Anaheim’s ECHL team, as a pending UFA and Hugo Ollas also in the ECHL. Tung fits in there somewhere, possibly as a partner for Garand in Hartford next season or just as more depth throughout the organization. My guess is that for him to leave college with a lot of eligibility left and for him to choose the Rangers that they presented him some plan that made it worth it.
