4:21PM: USA Hockey has announced that David Quinn will be the head coach for Team USA at the Olympics in February.

Adam Rotter: This was always the most likely scenario once the NHL pulled out. This is a big opportunity for Quinn and probably his best chance at returning to the NHL as a head coach. He may also get the chance to coach Team USA at the World Championships, but getting the US to the medal round at this Olympics would be big for his stock. Team USA won’t have many expectations, they were 1-0-1-1 in 2018 without NHL players and had a goal differential of -4. Quinn could be reunited with some of his former players at BU or players he coached against .
